DLT7000 fastor tape unit
Lageto 6.2 NT4/WIN2K

Backups are running with no errors but we needed top recover a few files
and restore are failing, we have tried several tapes over different backup
dates and the same error below.

Any hints ideas would be great.
We are getting the tape drive replaced, but if there is something wrong
with the configuration we have not spotted:

nsrd: media warning: \\.\Tape0 reading: The request could not be performed
because of an I/O device error.
nsrd: media notice: Volume "X" on device "\\.\Tape0": Cannot decode block.
Verify the device configuration. Tape positioning by record is disabled.
nsrd: media warning: \\.\Tape0 reading: The device is not ready.
nsrd: media warning: \\.\Tape0 reading: The device is not ready.
