Thanks a bunch.  We are using V2.x and I am in the process of getting a
SQL License from Legato.

You did not specify the version of your SharePoint.
I think that only NW 7.x is aware of the SHAREPOINT:\ V1.x special name
(requires special NW enabler).
If SharePoint V2.x the you need a SQL license (on top of NW 7.x client)
to back it up.

Do I need to be running Networker 7 to use this?  

I'm currently running Networker 6.2 and am about to absorb the clients
from a NetBackup environment.  I've made the upgrade to Networker 7 a
mid to long term task in my project plan.  

If I have to move it up to a short term task, then so be it.

To backup SharePoint 2.0 On win2k or Win2k3 you will need an SQL module
license as the SharePoint database is SQL based.
Networker module for SQL 4.0.1 has just been released and it provided
the needed support and certification with SharePoint 2.0.
