Yes, this is normal behavior. You can turn it off in the savegroup, at
least in versions 6.1 and later. Go into Customize/Groups and scroll to the
group definition. Select View/Details. un-check "No index save" and Apply.
This will prevent the index from being backed up when the savegroup runs.
