Gary,

I don't have much experience with NT4, but your problem sounds like you
might have a bad SCSI cable or card.  If you have a spare cable, I'd swap
that and see what happens to the problem.  I'd recommend shutting down the
NT4 machine before disconnecting the SCSI cable.

Also, you didn't indicate that you've cycled the NT4 machine.  The problem
could be with the server.
