Our team have been trying to isolate a problem with our notification mail
outs after a NW7 upgrade.

Not being totally convinced that the problem was solely with the mail client
we started logging our notifications requests and discovered that there
seemed to be an underling problem with NetWorker 7 and in particular with
multi processing. Early indications suggest that our problems went away when
we dropped back to a single CPU system (and turned off hyper threading).  We
have tested our NW 7 configuration on both Windows 2000 SP3 and Windows 2003
on HP ProLiant ML530 G2 and DL380 G3 hardware.

I would be interested in any details from others with similar problems.

does anyone know an email (or other?) alternative to using blat to send
notifications? we upgraded to nw 7 and blat absolutely refuses to send
notifications now. we really like the simplicity of blat and would like
to keep similiar functionality. our nw servers are w2k sp4 running nw
7.1.
