Hello,

Was reading man page for mminfo and I'm not clear on the difference
between query constraints: 'sscreate' versus 'ssinsert'. Was playing
around and noticed output always seemed to be identical for these. I
then decided to check the whole database as:

mminfo -av -r 'client,name,ssid,sscreate(20)' > /tmp/a; mminfo -av -r
'client,name,ssid,ssinsert(20)' > /tmp/b; diff --side-by-side
--suppress-common-lines -W 154 /tmp/a /tmp/b

Noticed 368 differences. The difference is always between the times, and
they are drastically and disturbingly different!!! However, 239 of these
are indexes, and 4 are bootstraps, but the remaining 65 are not. Some
sample output follows. Why on earth would the differences be so drastic?
I actually expected there to be more differences but was not prepared
for such discrepancies. I then reran the command and included the level,
and many of the indexes are level fulls, but there are a lot of level 9
and some level 5, too. Also noticed many of the regular savesets are
also a mixture of fulls, incrementals and level 5. The bootstraps were
either 9 or full. I can see maybe with the indexes and bootstraps that
some differences of several days, week maybe or month would be expected,
but can't explain months or even a year for some of the regular file
systems like /dev/pts for client6. I removed spacing from output to
avoid wrapping for email.

Would appreciate any advice or possible explanations.

George
