I have been having some problems like that but I have solaris 9 as the
server and am using an L700 jukebox with 6 LTO IBM-Ultrium I drives.

Subject: [Networker] LTO Drive or Tape Problem

Setup:
6 IBM LTO drives located in a STKL180
We have 2 drives scsi attached to directly to the Networker server.
3 drives are attached to 3 different AIX boxes with one drive daisy
chained
to another drive.
Running 7.1 Networker

Dilemma:
With the Imation, Maxell, and EMC brand LTO tapes we are experiencing
the
following:
*       Tapes showing full prematurely.
*       Media surface error
* "Just hangs", goes into a loop.

We have not had any problems with the Fuji brand tapes, but, we did not
catch this in time and our manager is not letting us buy into the tapes
that
are working without any problems.

Does anyone have a "fix" for this issue or have experienced the same?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Dan Maine
