Hi,

I wonder if someone knows how "service" mode is handled for a drive for
an NDMP drive that is connected to a Netapp.

I was doing a NDMP clone of one saveset on the Netapp. During the time
the NDMP coning was working I have changed the status of the destination
drive to service. This was done to allow the cloning to complete but not
use this drive later on.

What actually happened was that the NDMP cloning process remained in a
hanging situation once if finished copying the whole saveset to the
destination drive. It seems that due to the destination drive being in
service mode the NDMP coning did not finish as it could not
release/close the destination tape. This actually kept the source drive
busy preventing the execution of the standard scheduled backups.
