Hi Conrad,

The problem has be solved in your Scalar 100 setup. Normaly the Scalar 100 only 
recognises bar code labels up to 6 characters length. To change this behavior 
do the following on the Scalar: From the main menue -> more -> Setup -> Library 
-> Media. There you should see at the field "volser" the value "DEFAULT". Use 
change to set the value to "EXTENDED", so your labels between 5 and 16 
characters will be proper recognised from now on. A re-inventory has to be done 
after that.

Are you saying the magnetic label is 00153? It looks like the "9" was
omitted. Perhaps there was some dirt on the sensor in your tape library
when that tape was written, or maybe the printed bar code label is not
affixed to the tape properly.
