I'm trying to duplicate some of the functionality of Networker's built-in
staging using scripts and have run into some road blocks.

I have a large file device and would like to leave a copy of all backups on
that file device for an extended period of time (until the next full
backup), but still clone the data to tape immediately following its backup.

It seems that with the nsrstage command I have no choice but to *migrate*
the savesets to tape (i.e. remove them from disk).  (The -m flag appears
to be required!)

nsrclone demands that the destination of the cloning operation be
specifically part of a clone pool, and I just want them to go to Default.
(My file devices are in a Disk pool.)

The terminology in the nsrstage man page implies that it first clones
the save sets then removes the original copies, which could be taken
to imply that there might be a way to JUST clone them, which is what
I really want.  (And this appears to be the way the built-in staging
is done -- but it may be built-in to nsrd and not accessible to me.)

I want to avoid using the built-in staging due to all the reported problems
and my own previous bad experiences.

I'm currently using 6.1.3 on Solaris.  Is there any way to achieve what I
want?  If I upgrade to 7.1.1 (and possibly the adv_file device) will I be
any better off?
