You can use your jukebox resource for cleaning the tape-device. Set the
jukebox resource attribute Auto Clean to Yes and the Cleaning Slots
attribute to a non-empty range of slots.
Manualy use nsrjb -l -f <yourdevice> -S <ceaningslot>
A much better way is to let the Scalar 100 do it on demand. Go over the main
menu ->More -> Setup -> Library -> More -> AutoClean and set the autoclean
checkmark. After that you have to set the uses of the cleaning tape, even if
it's already in the Scalar 100. Go back to main menu -> Command -> I/O Station
-> AutoClean and set "Usecnt" to 46 and "Maxcnt" (default 50). A new cleaning
tape has to be imported. Put the new cleaning tape in the mailslot of the
Scalar 100 and again go over the main menu -> Command -> I/O Station ->
AutoClean -> Import and after that, set the counters again.
Hope this helps,
regards
Klaus

Betreff: [Networker] Cleaning tapes and cranky server
Hi All,
NetWorker 6.2.Build.109 Network/25 on Win2k, SP4.
Adic Scalar 100 AIT-3
I have a cleaning tape in slot 80:
C:\nsrjb | grep -i clean
80: Cleaning Tape (4 uses left) -
-
I was just running a backup and networker was spitting out hundreds of
emails saying:
NetWorker media: (warning) \\.\Tape1 opening: Warning: tape drive
\\.\Tape1 requires cleaning
- How do I get networker to use the cleaning tape automatically?
- How do I do clean the drive manually if I am 2000 miles away from the
library?
Thanks,
Ben
