I'm having a problem backing up a dual-homed host... specifically, my
laptop. It's Linux running as a NetWorker 6.1.4 client. It's named as
follows:

nomad.foo.org -- the "proper" host name
nomad.foo.org -- CNAME to nomad-eth.foo.org
nomad-wifi.foo.org -- the DNS name for the wireless interface
nomad-eth.foo.org -- the DNS name for the copper interface

Keep in mind that Networker is "picky" to what you set up as a
hostname (run "hostname" to see it),
what you have in your /etc/hosts and DNS (both forward and reverse
zones) for the client.
Make sure that all those names match.

Ideally, I'd like to backup the client via the copper interface, so I
created a client called "nomad-eth.foo.org" in nwadmin. I can back it up
just fine. The problem is that the backup is added to the backup server's
index (backup.foo.org, also Linux running NetWorker 6.1.4), not the
client's index. I've verified this by doing a relocated recover on the

Did you mean "directed recovery" ? How exactly did you do that ? Did
you use "recover -R <client name>" ?

backup server (not the laptop), only to find I've recovered the files
from the laptop (not the server).

I seem to remember reading about multi-homed hosts in the documentation,
but when I went back just now to find it, I can't locate it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
