[Networker] Barcode question
2004-02-25 17:06:38
I've got a guy here who's got a StorageTek library using Ultrium tapes.
He'd like to use the barcode program that I use for tape labels, but he
says the following.
He needs 8 characters and needs to have the L checksum marker at the end
of the label. EX: ABCD1234L
I've never heard that you "have to" use the checksum marker or have 8
characters. I'd like to save them some cash. Is the above true???
I have a ADIC Scalar 1000 with SDLT and I only use 6 characters and no
checksum marker. I just use standard code39 barcoding with ABC123 style
labels.
Thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul C.
