Use RMAN.  Legato is simply a media management vehicle when it come to
database backups using RMAN.  The catalog database contains all the
information you need.

Hi All,

We have taken regular oracle db backups along with control file & archive
logs on LTO tapes using Oracle 8.0.6 on Solaris, Legato NMO 3.5. The volume
option in the GUI shows only the script name.

Is there any way to detect the exact file contents on that tape i.e. the
names of data files, archive log files & control files.
