Steve,

Why don't you make a backup to disk first and stage it to tape the next
day ?? In that case you can re-label the tape without losing you latest
full backup als Shawn mentioned.

You could put a label command as part of a pre-processing job utilizing
savepnp.exe  Just re-label the tape prior to each backup.

This presents a few problems though:

o-Tape usage--the tape will wear out quickly.
o-If your backup fails, and you need to restore, you are out of luck
because
you labeled over your last good backup.
