The main reason we went for NDMP was to keep the data off the network. 

Now that the network infrastructure has been upgraded to GB switched it
is not so much of an issue. 

Mind you, looking for some big improvements when FC connected.

    What are the real advantages of using NDMP for NetApp over backing
it up through NFS mounted shares ?
    For example, I have a single NetApp volume (let's say 2 TB). Does it

    Especially considering the fact that it is going to be a single data
stream.
