Fact: Solaris 8/9.
Fact: Support in the kernel (st driver) for LTO2 and SDLT drives.
Is there a procedure to find what are the default values for the
"options" field in the kernel?
Is the default "options" value based on the device type or does it a
generic value for any/all tape drives?
Just to keep this complete I mean the "options" field as defined in the
"st" man page:
tape-config-list = <triplet> [, <triplet> *];
where
<triplet> := <vid+pid>, <pretty print>, <data-property-name>
and
<data-property-name> = <version>, <type>, <bsize>,
<options>, <number of densities>,
<density> [, <density>*], <default-density>;
or
<data-property-name> = <version 2>, <type>, <bsize>,
<options>, <number of densities>,
<density> [, <density>*], <default-density>,
<non-motion time-out>, <I/O time-out>,
<rewind time-out>, <space time-out>,
<load time-out>, <unload time-out>,
<erase time-out>;
with a possible st.conf entry example as:
LTO-data =1,0x3b,0,0x2D639,4,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x42,3;
Thanks,
Itzik
