Those errors generally mean a name resolution problem. Can each machine
forward/reverse lookup server machine? Can server machine
forward/reverse lookup the clients? When the machines forward/reverse
lookup themselves is it consistent? I know you have them in the host
files, but are they also in DNS? Do they have the same domain name?
