If you're sure that Solaris (on sparc I'm assuming?) supports that
adapter, you might want to check the output from prtdiag:

        /usr/platform/`uname -m`/sbin/prtdiag -v

Also, you may want to download an eval copy of ``sysinfo'', from
MagniComp.com.  It one of the best "how is this system configured" tools
I've ever seen.

Run that with the right options (I usually use `-level all') and study
the hardware tree, to see what shows up.

If you haven't guessed, I'm suspicious that the adapter is the problem.
