I'd take a serious look at ADIC's product line. They are the only
library company that can provide you with a "buy the robot once"
approach. By this I mean that you purchase your unit, and when the day
comes that you need more slots and tape drives, you just plug on another
cabinet with more slots and space for tape drives.

This is approach can provide your company with a good ROI when you get
to that point.

Just my $.02.

I am planning to replace our troublesome Quantum/ATL P3000
library with a new library. I need your help!!! :)

The existing library is currently dual-path fiber-attached
to our quad-proc HP server running Networker 7.1. This
server is Gigabit attached to the network, and has 1TB
of Networker ADV-FILE disk backup space.
We are providing backup services to 41 clients, a mix
of Linux and Win32 servers.

My requirements are:

        LTO2 or SDLT320
        At least 6 drive capable
        Fibre Channel Attached (duh!)
        Min 100 slots.

People have recommended IBM's 3584 library.

Any opinions? Recommendations? What's the current
"best of breed" in tape libraries?
