Hello,

A couple of questions here on enabler codes for a Storage node server.

We currently have one storage node server running on a Linux box, with
our primary server being a Sun/solaris box. We're running 6.1.1 Network
Edition on both. We'd like to install a 45-Day Evaluation Enabler Code
for a Storage node server to run on another (third) box, probably a Sun
but possibly another Linux box.

In looking at the information that shipped with 7.0, I see a whole table
of these temporary enabler codes that they provide in back. All fine and
well, but there are several things that don't make sense here. For
"Storage Node Options", I see the following two possible candidates:

A. Storage Node for UNIX, Network Edition (part number 2080, 3 enablers
to chose from)

B. Storage Node for Linux, Network Edition (part number 7054, 3 enablers
to chose from)

1. If we do decide to put this temporary storage node server on another
Linux box, do I pick one of the enablers for option B (Linux), or does
the "Linux" name instead imply to use only if the primary server is
running Linux in which case it wouldnt matter what operating system the
storage node was running, you'd always pick the Linux option if the main
server is running Linux? I'm thinking we'd chose option A since the
primary server is a Sun?

I should note that under the registration window for the server (nwadmin
GUI), our existing storage node enabler lists with the name: "Storage
Nodes/1" and says nothing about Linux.

Next, I see in this same table, something called "Dedicated Storage Node
Options (with NetWorker 6.x)" and "Dedicated Storage Node Options (with
NetWorker 7.0)". Under each of these they again list what appear to be
two possibilities for our situation, same as before, but each preceded
with the term "Dedicated".

2. What is a "Dedicated" storage node?

3. If we were to go with one of these, I guess we'd choose one from the
6.x section, but again, "Linux" or "UNIX"? and would we even want to
chose a "Dedicated" one over just the regular one?

Thanks.

George
