It is my understanding that re-directed restores must be to same platform as
backup platform. Others may be possible with a little programming, scanner,
and uasm experience but are usually not supported.

        Hi,

Every night I copy files (112GB) from Solaris via NFS to our Windows
backup server to get backed up. I need to restore the files to the Solaris
server ASAP and I want to do a directed recover from tape but it's not working:

        >>> via solaris
        recover> relocate
<return> will recover files into their original location
        New destination directory: /u28/ediprod_restore/
        recover> destination
        recover files into /u28/ediprod_restore/
        recover> pwd
        F:\ProductionData\Backups\Oracle\dbs\ediprod\HotBackups
        recover> verbose
        verbose mode on
        recover> add *.*
        59 file(s) marked for recovery

        Recovering 59 files within
F:\ProductionData\Backups\Oracle\dbs\ediprod\HotBackups\ into
/u28/ediprod_restore/
        Volumes needed (all on-line):
                000029 at \\.\Tape1
Requesting 59 file(s), this may take a while...
Total estimated disk space needed for recover is 118 GB.

        ../control.1ago
recover: must be a NetWorker admin on server
hosutil1-util.hosting.internal to recover files across platforms
        recover: error recovering ./control.1ago
recover: recover failed: Error receiving files from NSR server
`hosutil1-util.hosting.internal'

Recover completion time: Wed Jan 21 09:15:50 2004

I've got the following in the backup server:
        [email protected]
        unxdb4-util.hosting.internal
        *@unxdb4-util.hosting.internal

and the following in the hosutil1.hosting.internal client:
        [email protected]
        unxdb4-util.hosting.internal

        Can someone help me?

        Ben
