Hello.
I am having some troubles with scanning a tape in for a particular
client. Set up:
Networker 6.1.4 on Solaris (sparc)
Client I am scanning in is windows 2000 client.
I put a tape in and I scan it with:
Scanner -i -v /dev/rmt/0cbn
It proceedes to scan with many messages like below. There is only one
save set on this tape.
scanner: ssid 3102873857: NOT complete
scanner: ssid 3102873857: 326 GB, 950541 file(s)
scanner: done with 8mm AIT-3 tape shift.razorfish.com.077
scanner: Rewinding...
scanner: Rewinding done
scanner: the following save sets continue on shift.razorfish.com.078:
client name save set save time level size files
ssid S
nycfiles1.sb D:\Archive 11/17/03 11:05 334021789912 950541
3102873857 S
scanner: when next volume is ready, enter device name (or `q' to quit)
[/dev/rmt/0cbn]?
I hit "q" here and get:
scanner: (ssid 3102873857) error decoding save stream
scanner: (ssid 3102873857) added 22121 new file index entries
It says it added all these files, but when I browse to 11/17/03, I don't
see anything. I am also not sure what the "error decoding save stream"
means. This is one save set on 7 tapes. I have scanned all of them in,
but from what I understand, I shouldn't even have to. I should be able
to scan one tape in and have the files on that tape show up in the
online indexes.
I am somewhat desperate to get information off of these tapes. Any help
greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Dan
