I am trying to restore files and would like someone to verify that I am
doing it correctly. Here is what I am attempting to do:

From: restore data from a Novell Server that is store on tapes created
with failing hardware on a Solaris box running Legato 6.1.3 that are no
longer in the tape retention time period.

To: a newly created Novell Server from a completely different NDS tree
(the original is gone) with a tape drive connected to Legato 7.1 server
running on Windows 2000

Please tell me if these are true or false
1) The best way to do this is to user scanner -m \\.\Tape0 -f 22 -r from the
bootstrap tape to restore the index.

2) Since my boot strap tape appears to be useless, my next best option is to
run scanner -i \\.\Tape0 for each of the tapes in the save set to rebuild
the index.

3) Once the index is recreated. I will need to create an 'old' server
client and a 'new' server client and grant restore permissions on the 'old'
server to the 'new' server. Then I can run Legato Client on the 'new'
Novell Server and browse the index and restore the necessary files/folders
even though it is in a different NDS tree.

Thanks for your help.
Jack
