I know I said the tapes must be suspect on my recent thread. However , I 
thought 
I would manually re-label a few of the suspect tapes , and run the bigasm 
directive over them ( first time
using this ). Each tape appears to have been written way past ( 50GB) where I 
thought the 
bad patch was (at 25GB). Maybe they are OK after all. So, I will use these 
tonight, with a few 'good' tapes loaded as well.

If you're seeing these errors outside the purview of Legato (i.e.
something like tar), and you're pretty sure there's nothing weird going
on with the SCSI bus (i.e. you're not seeing anything odd in the system
log file) then I'd say the media could be suspect.
