Brian-
I have recently gone thru an extensive audit with an HP engineer and it was
deemed that in a switched environment "2" is the appropriate value for
"ResetTPRLO. However we never saw it make a difference. All it does is set
the order it will try various other parameters. "2" sets it to try the
"switched" settings first. Emulex has some good doc on their website dealing
with these settings. In our case we had more issues involving the
"EmulexOption", "NodeTimeout", and "QueueDepth". These made some
significant differences in timeouts and various other SAN stability issues.
Be alert though. The HP drivers, ACS software(HSG), VCS software(EVA),
SecurePath, etc. all make various changes to these params. I worked with HP
to figure out a "golden" combination of these parameters (for our
environment) and I have scripted the changes so we can apply those settings
after any change to the above software. This has helped greatly.
If you want more details respond back to the group. I will provide what I
can.

Subject: [Networker] ResetTPRLO on Compaq SAN
How should I have this set on my SAN?
Right now most of my machines are set to 0. I see in the Documentation that
you need to set this to 1. I also find where HP is recommending that it be
set to 2 in EBS systems.
What we are seeing is a lot of errors unloading tapes and the Exchange
backups just bomb with an XBSA error message.
Any Ideas?
My config
Networker 6.1.1
2 HSG80 pairs
6 stand alone Windows 2000 SP3 host 4 storage nodes + one backup server
Compaq branded Emulex LP 8000 cards cpqkgpsa driver is 5.4.81.9
TLH895 connected via an MDR.
