Hi,

Try to use the command lsdev, to see your SCSI addresses:
 lsdev -Cc tape.

Another thing with AIX boxes, be aware of TERMINATION, if problem,
normally it's easier to run without termination, just to check.
Check cabling and connectors, bended pin?
