Really!?!?!

That sucks....

The manual for 7.0 says below...(p259)
....cut here....
With the NetWorker DiskBackup option, you can only perform the following
operations:

- Multiple concurrent backups and multiple recovers.
- Multiple concurrent backups and only one manual cloning.
- One automatic or manual staging operation while performing multiple
  concurrent backups.
....cut here....

So my point is that the manual makes it look like you can do "multiple
concurrent" backups. If it can't do "multiple concurrent" it makes the
adv_file device unusable for me.

Thanks,

Joel

Hi Joel,

A file type device always is using 1 stream and doesn't multiplex data.
So whatever you set the value to it will only use 1 stream. This is how
it is designed.

Cheers,
Mark

Hey All,

Solaris 9

Sun V880

Networker 7.0

I'm testing 7.0 with the adv_file devices. No matter what my target
sessions/group parallelism/or client parallelism it only starts one
nsrexec process at a time. Anyone have any idea what I might have set
wrong... or is this by design?

Thanks,

Joel
