Re: [Networker] Apple OS Xserver

Patti,
       We have several XServe's and XRaids....We run the latest
Legato Networker
client for Mac OS X and everything work fine. We backup to a Sun Solaris 2.8
E-450 using a STK9710 with 6 DLT 7000's.

The XServe and XRaid are a very cost effective solution for FileSharing.
We also are a big Sun shop, and the XServe fit in very nicely.
The same Mac OS X Networker Client works on Desktops as well as the Server.
The only requirement is that you run a minimum OS X version of 10.2
Also this current Networker release is a command line interface only,
A GUI version is due out shortly.

We are currently a SUN equipment shop using a SUN L-40 jukebox and
DLT7000 tapes/drives.  We are looking to upgrade our infrastructure
and
the powers-that-be want us to evaluate the use of Apple's X-RAIDs
for disk storage.  It, of course requires the use of an Xserver.  Is
anyone using
an Xserver and if so, how are you backing it up?  Does Legato have
client modules for OS X, or for that matter, server modules for OS X?
