I'm working through the configuration of a Solaris NW server, Windows
storage node and an ADIC Scalar 10K. All of the above are connected via
a SAN. The tape drives on the Sc 10K connect to an SNC5100 and then the
SNC's are connected to the SAN. The Solaris server is connected to the
SAN via Emulex HBAs and the Windows storage node is connected via QLOGIC
HBAs. We're trying to use DDS to share 6 of 8 drives.

Based on testing, we've have found that the tapes are rewinding when we
reboot a Windows storage node while the backup server is writing to
tape. It seems like SCSI bus resets are causing this, but we can't
figure out how to stop them.

On the QLOGIC HBAs on the Windows storage node we have enabled FCTape,
disabled target resets and disabled LIP resets. We're running the most
currently BIOS and driver for the HBAs (well, the most current EMC
supported BIOS and driver). Anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Teresa
