Steve,

Running Scanner is purely a server specific function. Your NetWorker client
versions should be immaterial for this.

I am also not acquainted with this RPC Error being part of the 'older
server/newer client' genre, but how knows? Are you having any success with
restores of clients to this same server which are older versions of the
backup software?

Also, isn't HPUX 11.0 the 64-bit version of the OS? Do you suppose that
could be playing into this in some way?

Good luck!

I'm having problems with restores of files on a HPUX 11.00
system with the NetWorker v6.1.3 client that were were backed
up to a v5.5.1 Solaris 2.7 server. Yes, I understand it
was stupid of me to use a newer client with an older server.
At any rate, certain files consistantly (always?) ab-end with
the following msg:

recover: RPC error: Unable to receive

Is this a bug or is this a problem caused by running a newer
client version?

Anyone know of scanning the tape into newer server version
would make the restores work??

Other ideas?
