Hi There,
I am not sure myself - BUT - as far as I know the limits are actually on the
number of savesets you can run (depending on which version you run & # of
storage nodes etc - not to mention the capability of your actual backup
server itself).
We have a client that has more than a 1000 servers (clients) - with many
instances of each client (trust me you scroll for minutes looking for a
client) with literally 100's of groups as well as 96 drives with some DDS
between some of them. This all backs up about 10-15TB quite happily each
night
To top it all off they run on Win2K with NW613.
Hope this gives a better insight to some.
Regards,
Riaan

This is a good question. I am on NW7 on W2K and will a lot of client
definitions (~200-300) and a large number of groups (~60-100). I posted
this query once before and no one seemed to give me any hard limits that
I might hit. IF anyone knows, can they post it up?
Cheers,
Jim

How many groups are used in the configuration? We expect to have about
30-40 or more. When the 1024 character limit changed, was it entirely
lifted or just raised to a higher value?
Thanks.
Teresa

No it won't. I have a server here with 537 client resources, and I'm
sure there are people on this list with more.
There used to be a limit of 1024 characters in all the group names. This
is now gone.
