In my case we can't.
We do have a test server configured from a recovery of the server in question
and even after applying SP3 to SQL on the test box it still fails with the same
error message.

Thats why my issue never got anywhere with Legato because they were insiting
that I had to install SP3 before we could go any further.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

I had several problems getting legato SQL backups to work before I installed
SP3 for SQL 7.0
I'd start with that unless you've got a very good reason not to service pack
SQL.

In my case I have Sql 7.0 on Win2k.
The SQL part has no service packs installed.
Win2k has SP3.
Component checker says my MDAC is 2.6 RTM (2.60.6526.3)

Component checker downloaded from MS at the link below...

This looks like it could be MDAC related. Do you know which version of MDAC
is on your SQL server? What version of SQL? MS has a tool called
'component checker' that will help you determine the MDAC version. Please
tread carefully when messing with MDAC. You can easily cause several
application incompatibilities especially on a box with SQL installed. MDAC
cannot be easily backleveled especially since your backups are not fully
working.

I am having the same problem on two of my servers.
I had a ticket open with Legato support and they were not able to fix the
problem.
If you figure this one out please let me know!
