Hello All,

We are currently using DLT 7000 tape drives on StorageTek 9714 tape
library.
Which is best for us if we want to upgrade library and drives and still
able to read data written on DLT 7000 drives?

I think you've answered your own question. If you need backward
compatibility you will have to stay with the DLT family. I think you
could probably upgrade your 9714 to SDLT if you really want.

If you go to LTO you will need to keep at least one DLT drive around to
read your existing tapes.
