We have a seperate client for this box that saves "all" and escapes the DB2
database files.

I'll try the escape thing next.

One issue could be that I beleive you need to escape the slash, so it
should
be

D:\\mydatabase in the bat file ??? I know that when using savepnpc you
must
do this.

Also instead of using specfic saveset you could use all and use a directive
to skip what you don't want????

Just a though.

Piet

Hi ed,

It is also strange to me; but did you also try the WINDOWS notation in save
set field ; like D:\mydatabase ?

Cheers

We're having problems getting DB2 to backup on NT. Things work fine with
Solaris and Linux.

The details are as follows. Server is 7.0 build 322, client has the
networker client (6.0.1.0) and NMDB2 is installed (1.5?).

The client entry on our Solaris Legato Server is:
   type: NSR client;
                        name: abc;
                      server: legato-server;
                     comment: DB2;
            archive services: Disabled;
                    schedule: DB2_group;
               browse policy: Quarter;
            retention policy: Quarter;
                   directive: ;
                       group: DB2_group;
                    save set: "DB2:/mydatabase";
               remote access: root@legato-server;
                 remote user: ;
                    password: ;
              backup command: nsrdb2.bat;
     application information: ;
                        ndmp: No;
                     aliases: abc.def.com
               archive users: ;
               storage nodes: nsrserverhost;
         clone storage nodes: ;
              client OS type: ;
                        CPUs: ;
           NetWorker version: ;
              enabler in use: No;
       licensed applications: ;

The nsrdb2.bat file has the INSTHOME defined as "D:\db2". That directory
on
the client contains:

d:\Data
d:\IBM
d:\NODE0000
d:\SQLLIB

under d:\Data there is only one directory called "mydatabase".

The error we're getting from Legato is:
NetWorker savegroup: (alert) DB2_group completed, total 1 client(s), 0
Hostname(s) Unresolved, 1 Failed, 0 Succeeded. (abc Failed)
Start time:   Wed Aug 20 14:11:44 2003
End time:     Wed Aug 20 14:12:18 2003

--- Unsuccessful Save Sets ---

* abc:DB2:/mydatabase 1 retry attempted

--- Successful Save Sets ---

  legato-server: index:abc          level=full,     20 MB 00:00:12    148
files

Does anyone have any idea where to even start diagnosing this problem? I've
racked my brain on this.

Thanks in advance,

-Ed.
