Matt,
Could you explain why you use Legato over Veritas for your SAN currrently?
Also what SAN you are using?

Good story on this topic.
We run Legato for our SAN-based backup environments and Veritas for our remote
non-SAN equipped offices, thus giving us a
relationship with both companies.

Last week the Veritas rep takes us out for lunch and was REALLY trying hard to
get some leverage on the SAN backup business. I
finally broke him down and he told me that for every $5,000USD in sales he gets
from an existing Legato account before the end of
the year, he gets one chance at a Porsche 911. Pretty nice sales incentive.
He also told us he would convert any Legato license at
no cost. We just had to pay maintenance on the licenses. Talk about a buyer's
market!

Anybody else getting lunches from Veritas?

It's me again. Somehow the link to the site was removed or didn't work.

Just go to Veritas website and you can see in their front page the link.

Veritas is really working on it, take a look at this site.

They're getting pretty aggressive.
