What does mminfo report on the browse and retention periodjs of those savesets
related to that SQL DB backup???

Have you tried re-scanning the saveset on which that DB backup resides back
into the Media DB??

Just a thought!!

Subject: [Networker] SQL2000, 1 out of 65 DB's not restorable

Hi All,

Thought I would try to pick the experts brains a tad. We are trying to do a
restore for a client on SQL2000.

The SQL server crashed and we are trying to do a full restore. All but one
of the DB's we can see on the Networker GUI and we can recover them from our
last most recent full backup. The last DB shows that we can only restore
from 3 months ago.

Networker logs state that all backups were successfull - when one of the
other DB's had a problem the networker group messages and logs reflected
this (so we assume it works). The applogs log (below) shows that it was
backed up successfully (last week).

The nsrsqlsv.log shows that the particular DB was backed up successfully:
[1932] Start time Tue Jul 15 21:28:03 2003
[1932] System Version: 5.0 Build 2195 Service Pack 3
[1932] Microsoft Data Access Component(MDAC) version: 2.71.9030.9
[1932] Microsoft SQL Server version (from registry) : 8.00.194
[1932] Legato Networker Server Version: NetWorker 6.1.3.Build.428 Network
Edition/305
[1932] nsrexecd.exe Version: 6.1.1.Build.238
[1932] nsrsqlsv.exe Version: 3.1.0.43 Supporting SQL 7.0 and SQL 2000
[1932] SQL Connection is created. SQL Server Version is 08.00.0760
[1932] The backup of BlackHole has completed successfully

I know that the SQL client is not on the latest version 3.1.0.71 or later
(and I know Legato had a mail shot about a problem with nsrsqlsv.exe not
reporting errors correctly back to Legato) - but all the logs show it was
backed up 100%, MSDE thinks it was backed up, the applogs log shows a
successfull message ... This is a mutlistream (session) backup as well -
which Legato's mailshot said wasnt affected by the then problem.

Any ideas ? Help ? Suggestions ?

Much Appreciated !

Regards,

Riaan Louwrens
