Craig,
"Storage Node/1" is a storage node license. The "1" is a license type code,
not a count.
If you see a "Storage Node/1" license listed in your registration screen,
you are licensed to set up another system (other than the NetWorker server)
as a storage node.
While the backup server implicitly has a server, storage node, and client
component, it does not consume a storage node license - that's included in
the server license. However, the backup server does consume a client
connection.
Hope this helps,

Subject: [Networker] Storage node question
Hi,
I have a licensing question about storage nodes. I was asked recently to
look into installing some storage nodes at remote sites for backups, and
I've been unable to find an answer to licensing. Legato was purchased
before my time, and in looking at what licenses we have, the Registration
window in the nwadmin GUI says we have the following license:
Storage Node/1
I'm interpreting that as having a license to have at most 1 storage node.
Is my assumption correct? Our Networker server runs on the same machine
that our tape library is physically connected to. Does Legato consider that
a storage node, or is a storage node defined as a entity that does not exist
on the Networker server itself?
Any clarifications would be helpful.
Thanks.
