A master server is considered a storage node with master installed on it.

So your networker server is considered to use 1 client license, 1 storage node
license, and 1 master node license....

So you would need an additional license[s] if you wanted to install additional
storage node[s].

Subject: [Networker] Storage node question

Hi,

I have a licensing question about storage nodes. I was asked recently to
look into installing some storage nodes at remote sites for backups, and
I've been unable to find an answer to licensing. Legato was purchased
before my time, and in looking at what licenses we have, the Registration
window in the nwadmin GUI says we have the following license:

        Storage Node/1

I'm interpreting that as having a license to have at most 1 storage node.
Is my assumption correct? Our Networker server runs on the same machine
that our tape library is physically connected to. Does Legato consider that
a storage node, or is a storage node defined as a entity that does not exist
on the Networker server itself?

Any clarifications would be helpful.

Thanks.
