My Original question:

I am using DDS on Solaris 8 with Networker 6.1.2
Do you need additional storage node licenses for each host that wants to use
the shared drives?

Answer:

You need 1 DDS license for each drive you want to share. In addition to that
you need either a 'SAN Storage Node' or 'Storage Node' license PER host that
wants to use the shared drives.
The difference between the two is that 'SAN Storage Node' allows for the
storage node to only back itself up while a full blown 'Storage Node' license
allows the storage node to backup itself AND other clients.

The pricing on the 'SAN Storage Node' is considerably less than a full blown
'Storage Node'.

I did also verify via Legato Support that this was the case.
