Status on this issue:  We have confirmation from Microsoft that this is a KMS 
error and are in the process of asking them to make a hotfix to address it.

Thanks for bringing this up; we are looking into it.

At first glance, this appears to be a Microsoft problem.  The backup API 
exposes an annotation string (called "wszEndpointAnnotation") that allows us to 
ascertain whether we are dealing with a normal Storage Group, vs KMS or SRS.  I 
do not think that they should internationalize this string (I assume that 
"Microsoft-Schlüsselverwaltungsdienst" is German for "Microsoft Key Management 
Service").

backup of MSEXCH:KMS is impossible. Perhaps because we are using a German
Exchange 2000? I don't think so, the backup of MSEXCH:IS succeeded.
