Backup server Solaris 7, Networker 6.1.3
Client W2K SP2 attached to a SAN

We have a W2K server attached to a SAN for end user data file storage. In
April some new LUNS were assigned to the NT group and made available to this
host. During the transition, Veritas Volume Manager was installed to
facilitate future changes.

The SAN was addressed with the drive letter E:. Once the transition was
completed, the old data remained intact for DR and assigned F: while the new
structure was given the original drive letter of E:

Now, when attempting a restore, the indexes only present data for drive E:
post change. Client indexes are still available prior to the change but are
not presented when using the GUI client.

Since the drive signature changed, I figured a directed recover to another
file system would do the trick but I still cannot view indexes prior change.

Doing a saveset recover does allow me to select savesets prior change but
that process takes a very long time. Since the data is end user, the vast
majority of request for recovers are for individual files or directories.
And since many users don't always have filename or backup date, searching
for their request is problematic.

Is there another solution for future requests?

TIA
David
