Hello Pat,

Yes, I have customers using TL896 on Tru64 Unix V5 and I am not
aware about such problem. I would suggest to have a HW guy looking
at the robotic, maybe some belt pressure or sensor to be
cleaned.

Did you re-launched jbconfig after the upgrade ? and if yes,
look at control path of the robotic. If it looks like
scsidev@<Bus>.<SCSI_ID>.<SCSI_Lun>, replace by /dev/changer/mc<?>.
You may also have to increase the load/unload time-outs, TL896 is not
very "fast" and, with too short time-out value (from media->Jukebox
view->detail), could met cmd time-outs.

HTH,

Thierry

Subject: [Networker] TL896 library question on tru64 version 5.1

I have a Digital TL896 library attached to a Alphaserver 1200 recently
upgraded to tru64 5.1 from version 4.0F. This library now has an issue
only
under legato (version 6.1.1) when perfoming deposits and withdrawals
with
nsrjb. When performing a withdrawal, the tape is removed from proper
slot
and placed on conveyor (inlt 3) and there is remains. Whilst performing
deposit, you are prompted with an annoying message that the iod is
empty,
and pressing yes completes the deposit successfully, though very
annoying.
On the withdrawal, one can utilize the sjimm commands to complete the
withdrawal to the output bay (inlt 2). If one was not totally confused,
someone else upgraded the library firmware since I last touched this
library.

I know this was a completely working library once some time ago, and
completely understand the changes which needed to occurr ( device names
changed and the library utilities are now inherent to the os) during the
4.0f to 5.1 upgrade.

My question is is there anyone running a similar library under tru64
5.X?
