Hi Tom,
Refresher course 101:
1. make sure the client is running
2. do client initiated backups to the server work? (ie: try running 'save'
directly)
3. make sure that the client "does something" when the server tries to
connect
4. if not: run nsrexecd in debug mode and see if something is happenning
5. anything in client side daemon.log
6. what happens to cause the retry? - What's te real error message?

Mark,
Almost anything could be to blame for this.
Have you tried creating a new Test Group where you attempt to backup only 1
of these clients?
Does this also happen when you try to backup via the command line, using the
savegrp command?
Ping is fine, but what does rpcinfo report?
Try to think about what has changed in this configuration since 2 weeks
ago... a new driver? new NIC's? any new patches installed? ????
I wish I could be more decisive and helpful to you. But this is quite a
broad item you have presented us here.
Good luck compadre.
Tom
