Guy,

When NetWorker 6.x was introduced, so was a new client indexing structure.
The "new" nsrindexd which ships with NetWorker is a threaded file, and is
designed to handle the client indexes as XDR as opposed to the former WISS
format.

Recovering the client indexes manually is alright. But since MMRECOV and
NSRCL -L7 are designed to accomplish this task for you, then why not save
yourself the work of doing it yourself?

This is a reliable process, and I am sure your exercise will go fine.

Cheers,
Tom

Greetings,

I am running networker server 6.1.2 on AIX. Next week I will be doing a
disaster recovery exercise.
The manual now says to use the nsrck -L7 to recover the client indexes.
Where does it get that data
from?

In the past, I just used to recover the client indexes manually after the
mmrecov.

Thanks!
