There is no issue with mixing HBAs on a SAN. However, until recently the
Qlogic HBA was a poor choice for tape drives on Windows, due to the lack of
support for persistent binding. Someone told me recently that there is a
newer driver that does support persistent binding, but I strongly advise
you to check that out for yourself. The Emulex cards do support persistent
binding on Windows and work very well for tape drives.
