Hello,

With the Library control panel you need to disabled the drive not installed.

Hi Micheal,

We have similar setup, the jbconfig get the drive from /dev/rmt/ while
setting up M1500 with only 3 drives. But M1500 x 2 with stanklink send
signal to solaris setup saying that it has four drives. So what we did is to
take away the virtual drive which is not exist in the first place then use
jbconfig again.

Right now we are facing another problem, the tape always get stuck inside
M1500, need to reboot very week, with below error
Symptom:
-Library will hang after 1 week if the library didn't power-cycle.
eg. user reboot library on monday, and library will hang any time on sunday
if user didn't power-cycle library say on friday.

-FSC error code on library prompted when library hang as below:
        FSC Name Position
Failed Area
        2604 FSC_SERVO_THETA_AXIS_ Robotic hand
                        NOT_IN_POSITION Electronic Module

Any ideas ?
Thanks
Robert

Setting up 2 Quantum ATL M1500 tape libraries connected via a StackLink,
to a Sun E250, with Networker 6.1.1 installed. One library contains one
HP LTO ultrium drive, the other contains two HP LTO ultrium drives (3
drives in total).

When configuring using jbconfig, you are asked what tape jukebox you are
installing, nothing similar to the M1500 appears in the list. Have to
select 'Standard SCSI Jukebox'. This appears to work in that it reads
the tapes that are in the slots etc. but is there not a better selection
I can make ?

Also configuring this way it forces me to configure 4 devices for tape
drives where there are only 3.

Any thoughts ? Thanks,
