And there ae no messages in /var/adm

Cabling is OK as far as I can see, but my engineer will check it and also the 
front panel on the tape. BTW, if the cable is wrong then we won't be able to 
access the tape drive also, right? We are able to write to the tape drive 
though.

You may still be planning to send the following, but I wanted to make
sure.

1) output from inquire
2) any errors from /var/adm/messages

Another very useful piece of information would be the cabling from the
Sun box to the jukeboxes?
