Re: [Networker] SAN storage node

Hi Teresa,
I have a customer that has a configuration with about 16 SAN Storage
Nodes and it's +- easy to install.
- One of the problems is the jbconfig, that is quite big (16 SNodes x 6
drives + Server = 102 devices). Make a text file with all the answers to
the questions that the jbconfig will make, after a while it will be the
same answers;
- We have a ADIC Scalar 100 SDLT with 6 drives and a SNC5101 (SCSI-FC);
- Make sure that the HBA can do persistent binding (Legato wont support
HBA's that doesn't do it), for ex. Emulex (not QLOGIC).
- Turn the Removable Storage Service on Windows to Disable (just to make
sure);
- The performance is good, about 15 to 22 MB/s....

Bruno Madeira

Subject: [Networker] SAN storage node
We're thinking about attaching our library to our SAN and adding a few
SAN storage nodes to our environment. A few questions:
o Is anyone using SAN storage nodes?
o How difficult was the installation? What problems did you have during
set up?
o What type library do you have?
o What has your experience been with this configuration?
o What problems have you seen?
o Has the performance been what you expected?
Thanks!
Teresa
