Hi Rainer,
What you could do is a dry-run of the backup or in other words a preview of the
backup. This can be done from the GUI right-click on the group you want to run
or via command line savegrp -pvvv Default. This command will perform a preview
of the group Default, the amount of v's increases the amount of verbosity
(information) you will receive. It will not write any data to tape, disk or
whatever device you have configured.
Regards,
Mark

Subject: [Networker] Testing the backup-functionality
Hi,
I'd like to run a test of our various backup-groups (and specifically the
scripts that shutdown and restore Oracle et.al).
But I don't want to do it on regular tapes, instead I want to write
everything
to /dev/null.
Is this possible ?
The server is running Legato 6 on NT4.
Thanks in advance
Rainer
